Promise Pig
Promise Delivery Service!

What is a Promise Pig?

“Promise Pig" is an embroidered ornament that delivers a promise gift!

How does Promise Pig Deliver a Promise?

The grantor places a message into the pig’s pocket, and Promise Pig makes the delivery. The grantee retrieves the promise from the pocket.

The gifted promise is fulfilled during the next calendar year.

About us

The Short Story

In the 1980's, each of our children were given a pig Christmas tree ornament which held a promise in its pocket.  After all gifts had been opened on Christmas morning, the children read their promises.  This became a yearly tradition and Promise Pig" still makes deliveries today.

Believing others might like to incorporate promise gifts into their gift-giving celebrations, promisepig.com was created.  As a technologically challenged retiree, the journey is a challenging adventure.

The Long Story

Our Promise Pig tradition began as a fun new element when our family was transferred away from close-knit kin who enjoyed celebrating the holidays together.  Each child was given their own Promise Pig Christmas tree ornament. The pig delivered a promise which was to be fulfilled during the next calendar year.

After all gift boxes were opened, the children retrieved their pig and read their promise.  Transplanted from the Midwest to CT, the promise to ring in the new year at Times Square was an exciting first promise.

The next Christmas, the children wanted Promise Pig to deliver again.  (Most yearly promises were different for each, however, some were the same for all.)  A tradition began which continued until the children left home.  They continued the Promise Pig tradition with their children.

Promise Pig is a dedicated messenger!  After forty plus years, he still serves faithfully.  Today, he delivers promises to our great-grandchildren.  When our daughter celebrates with her grandchildren in Libertyville IL, her Promise Pig ornament holds a promise to her from her son.

Through decades of giving promises, a few principles have been helpful: Promises are best formulated where interests, opportunity, and people intersect. Don’t believe the gift must be big to be appreciated.
